As well as there side effects there are many risks and complications during and after an abortion. Some risks to keep in mind when pregnate and seeking to have an abortion are:
1. Etopic Pregnancies-which is basically when the sperm will be able to reach the egg in the tube. In which the baby will start growing inside your fallopian tube. If not decteted earyl and not remove it can cause burst of the tube and even death.
2. Sterilit- Since after having a surgical aboriton and maybe possible catching any infection the uterus is often scarred in which then the tiny sperm cannot reach the egg. Fertilization cannot occur. So it will be harder to have babies in the future.
3. Breast Cancer-Because of the rapid growth of breast tissue in early pregnancy,women who have first trimester abortions face twice the risk of contracting breast cancer as those who miscarry or complete their pregnancies and give birth.
As well as there risks to take in consideration when having an abortion there are also complications after an abortion. Many can be :
1. Heavy or persistent bleeding
2. Infection or sepsis
3. Damage to the cervix
4. Scarring of the uterine lining
5. Perforation of the uterus
6. Damage to other organs
7. Death
Although these complications are rare there are also possible and will probably occur 1 out of the 100 first trimester abortions and approximately 1 out of every 50 late term abortions.
