The Most Common Abortion Procedure

The most common abortion procudure in the United States is the Abortion Pill also known as Mifepristone and Misoprostol, and or Methotrexate & Misoprostol which basically all mean the same the only difference is that Mifepristone is much more expensive and effective then the Methotrexate. This procedure can only be no later then 9 weeks of gestations. Throughout the United States most women seem to get this procudure other then Suction aspiration, Dilation and curettage etc. This procudure is requires three office visit after taking the first pill and done as follows:

1. Your health care provider will give you the abortion pill at the clinic. This means The abortion pill works by blocking the hormone progesterone. Without progesterone, the lining of the uterus breaks down, and pregnancy cannot continue.

2. You will take a second medicine, misoprostol at home . It causes the uterus to empty. You'll take the second medicine up to three days after taking the abortion pill. Your health care provider will give you instructions on how and when to take the second medicine.

3. You will need to follow up within two weeks. Follow-up is important to make sure your abortion is complete and that you are well. You will need an ultrasound or blood test.

This procudure is more safer, its private because its done at home, requires usually no anesthesia, and women feel its more normal because it feels more like a miscarruage then an surgical abortion.
